D’Agata: Skoglund should enjoy his final days as champion

Danilo D’Agata (12-1-1, 3 KOs) travels to Esbjerg, Denmark on April 12th to challenge Erik Skoglund (19-0, 10 KOs) for the EU Light Heavyweight Title. The Italian is confident that he possesses the skills and the style needed to dethrone the Swedish champion.

Q: How have you been preparing for this fight?

DD: I have been doing everything I can to ensure that I enter the ring in the best possible shape on April 12th. I am completely focused on my training and on returning to Italy as the new champion!

Q: What do you think of your opponent Erik Skoglund?

DD: I have watched a few of his fights, while he is definitely a skilled boxer, I think he is maybe a little too linear in his style. He is good but he lacks the imagination and the excitement typical of a Latino fighter like me.

Q: How would you describe your own boxing style?

DD: The complete opposite of Skoglund! I am unpredictable. I am awkward. I might be a light heavyweight but I fight like a featherweight. I try to float like a butterfly!

Q: Skoglund is undefeated as a professional. How do you plan to beat him?

DD:  If I perform to the best of my ability I have no doubts that I can beat him. I will not just float like a butterfly, but also sting like a bee!

Q: This will be your first professional fight outside of Italy. How will you cope with the pressure of fighting abroad?

DD: I feel no pressure! I will just relax, take my time and focus on my opponent.

Q: What can the Scandinavian boxing fans expects from you?

DD: The Scandinavian fans can expects to see a strong, hungry foe ready to face their local hero. I am really looking forward to it!

Q: Do you have a message for Skoglund?

DD: See you in Esbjerg, Erik, and enjoy your final days as champion!
