Heather Hardy to appear on FX Network

Tune into the television comedy-drama LOUIE, starring popular comedian Louie C.K., tomorrow night to catch a special guest appearance by WBC International female super bantamweight champion Heather “The Heat” Hardy. The episode will premiere Thursday, April 30, at 10:30pm ET, on the FX network.

“I received a call from the show’s casting agent, as they were looking for a female boxer,” said Hardy. “I auditioned and I got the part. It was a lot of fun.

“I have a scene with Louie himself. I can’t say what happens, so you’ll have to watch to find out, but it was shot in the West Village of Manhattan.

“It was my first speaking role. Everyone was very nice and Louie was so funny. He helped me loosen up, telling me we could ad-lib our lines and I just had a blast. I’d love to do it again. Perhaps they can bring back my character on a future episode.”

Hardy, 12-0 (2 KOs), of Brooklyn, NY, won the WBC International belt in October of last year, defeating Crystal Hoy via 10-round decision, as part of DiBella Entertainment’s “Broadway Boxing” series. On Monday, Hardy participated in a World Boxing Council (WBC) event at the Friars Club in New York City to unveil the WBC Emerald championship belt that will be awarded to the winner of the mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao this weekend. Along with former WBC champion Alicia Ashley, Hardy presented the belt to WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.

In her last bout, held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Hardy competed on the undercard of the Premier Boxing Champions on NBC event headlined by Danny Garcia vs. Lamont Peterson on April 11. Facing Renata Domsodi, of Hungary, Hardy was in command from the onset, displaying fast hands and crisp combinations before the bout ended abruptly from an accidental clash of heads.

Hardy will return to action on Friday, May 29, at the Barclays Center and is anxious to get back in the ring.

“I’m happy to be fighting back at Barclays Center on May 29,” said Hardy. “I rolled right back into the gym after my last fight without much of a break and training camp has been going great. I know that my opponent Noemi Bosques will provide a tough challenge, but I am determined to secure the victory and prove all of the naysayers wrong.”
