Ringnews24.com: You are currently 13-1 what are your thoughts on how your career is progressing so far?

Obviously, I’d like to be 14-0 rather than 13-1 but not everything goes according to plan, there’s ups and downs along the way. Other than that, I’m happy with how its going, I’ve been a pro for three years today, I remember that because it’s my dad’s birthday. I’m the English champ so I couldn’t ask for it to be going any better.

Ringnews24.com: Who is the toughest opponent you have fought to date?

In the amateurs, it would be a French guy in a Box Cup tournament. In the pros, I’ll have to say Joe Hughes.

Ringnews24.com: What would you say is your biggest win to date in the ring?

It would have to be against Luke Paddock to win the English title. I hit him with a sweet punch in the ninth round and he didn’t carry on.

Ringnews24.com: What fight taught you the most as a boxer?

Probably a fight against Mark McKray in September last year. He’s tough and it was just after my best mate Eamonn Magee Jr. had been murdered, so I was very emotional and I had to learn to stay focused and he was a very hard guy to beat.

Ringnews24.com: Who would you like to fight in the near future?

I don’t ever call anyone out but I’ll fight anyone in order to get to where I need to go.

Ringnews24.com: Are there any plans to fight for any titles soon?

Looking at early next year after two warm up fights with my new team.

Ringnews24.com: Who is your dream opponent at your weight level?

I’d love to fight Adrien Broner.

Ringnews24.com: What do you hope to achieve in the rest of your career and do you have a time scale to reach your goals?

To become a world champion. I’m 24-years-old so loads of time to get ready; I’ve never thought about a retirement age, to be honest.

Ringnews24.com: What do you think separates you from your competition – what makes you special?

Just the will to win, I don’t like losing – nobody does – but I’ve tasted defeat and don’t want to taste it again.

Ringnews24.com: You have fought the majority of your fights in London. Would you like to fight in any other country or particular cities?

I’d love to fight in Las Vegas in the MGM Grand. I would love to fight in Ireland more regularly; hopefully I’ll be there in March next year. My fans come from all over the place – Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Essex.

Ringnews24.com: What is going on with your boxing career now – can you tell readers when, where and against whom you will be fighting next?

Having two warm up fights then going for a big title next year. Next fight is a six-rounder on November 5th at York Hall then I’ll be having an eight-rounder in December.

Ringnews24.com: Do you have a message for the fans?

Thanks for all the support, always much appreciated and I feel blessed to have such a great support and long may it continue.
