Exclusive: Former GB Standout Danny Craven talks pro debut on November 18 Kieran Farrell show

Exciting Warrington Light Welterweight Danny Craven is in the final stages of preparation for his pro debut on November 18 at Bowlers Arena.

The decorated amateur who was a member of the Great Britain elite performance squad for a period before turning professional has linked up with Heywood’s Kieran Farrell. Craven who has also been sparring with the likes of former WBA World Lightweight Champion Anthony Crolla appears to have found the transition from the amateurs to the pro’s comfortable.

“The transition has been really good to be honest” Craven said. “I wanted to turn pro a few years ago but I just didn’t feel it was the right time however I took my time to perfect my mind craft and my skills and now I’m ready to go.”

Heywood’s former Central Area Lightweight Champion Farrell who manages, trains and promotes Craven, is really impressed by the Warrington native and gave his take on his Light Welterweight acquisition.

“Danny is a top kid who’s really got the potential to go far in this game.”

Farrell continued, “He’s been sparring in the highest class and holding his own every time. I won’t be hanging around with Danny he will be in real fights from the get go!”

Craven who had a glittering amateur career, boxing out of Warrington’s Hook and Jab gym, elaborated on his relationship with former English title challenger Farrell.

“Training with Kieran has been an absolute pleasure. He’s definitely taught me a lot in the last few months and everything has come together nicely.”

“I feel Kieran can make something special of me but only time will tell.”

Craven debuts on a stacked card at Bowlers Arena in Manchester on November 18 with ticket prices being as low as £20. The Warrington man gave previewed his pro debut and elaborated on what it meant to him to get to this stage in his boxing career.

“I’m really looking forward to my pro debut. The boxing fans watching will see something new, fresh, exciting and a bit different from myself.”

“It really does mean a lot to me as I’ve come a long way to get to this stage. I’ve wanted to be a pro since I was a young boy and I really will make the most of my debut on November 18.”
