Undefeated welterweight Nathan Brough 7-0 (2) will make his long awaited return to the ring in front of his home support on April 14 at the Echo Arena, Liverpool on the undercard of Tony Bellew's eagerly anticipated British title clash with Danny McIntosh. With fellow Scouser, John Watson, also added this week local fans are sure to make their voices heard by roaring on three home fighters. And Brough is keen to impress. "It's a great chance for me with the show being on Sky. I'm keen to put on a good performance and show everyone what they've been missing." Brough, who hasn't fought in almost three years due to a snapped ligament in his left wrist was once touted as one of Britain's brightest prospects and commented, prior to his injury, that "Kell Brook is the only challenge out there for me." For now, it's all about getting back to what he loves and knows best. "The aim is to shake off some rust but I'm already doing that in the gym with sparring and all that but I'm just really looking forward to getting back in the mix with the best welterweights in the country. I haven't had a chance to fight on any of the Echo bills since its been hosting these big shows. I'm gonna take it a fight at a time, not setting my sights on anyone but obviously I'll be stepping up the opposition with each fight and by Christmas hopefully I can land myself a British or English title shot or even an eliminator." Promoter, Dave Coldwell was equally thrilled to have him on the bill after some discussions with Brough's manager Tommy Gilmour. "I've got a good relationship with Tommy. He's got one or two Liverpool fighters and I work well with him. I gave him a call, we had a chat and Nathan was eager, straining at the leash and what better way to build his profile than on a show like this. He's had some hand problems but he's a talented kid and I've had so many people from Liverpool talking to me about him and how good he is." David Coldwell in association with Eddie Hearn present 'The Big Bang' which is live and exclusive on Sky Sports HD on Saturday, 14th April. Tickets are priced at £30, £40, £60, £80, VIP tickets £150 and all available from: www.coldwellboxing.com www.matchroomboxing.com Follow @davidcoldwell on Twitter for regular updates.
