Presents an Interview with Professional boxer Lucian Bute

Hi Lucian on behalf of RingNews24.com and our readers, thank you for taking the time to talk to us. As well as our own, we have included questions provided by fans on the RingNews Forum.

One of your main assets is shooting left uppercut to the body and head, you use it like nobody else I've seen for a long time, who did  you learn it from?

I leared it at a Russian Camp when I was an amateur but I perfected it thanks to my coach Stephan Larouche. It is a very specific punch and must be used very rapidly or you leave yourself open to a counter.

You are fighting Glen Johnson next he hasnt been stopped for years, to really make a statement to Ward and Froch are you aiming for a knockout win?

I don't think any boxer aims for a knockout win. The plan is to win each minute of every round. But believe me, if i see a oppurtunity for a KO I am taking it!!

How is your training  going and how would you compare it to other training camps that you have done?

My camp has been amazing. I had quality sparring with Randy Griffen, Enrique Ornelas and Alejandro Berrio. All timelines were respected and my weight has been on track since October. I would say this camp was among my very best.

Glen Johnson is famous for his perpetual come forward style of fighting and resilience. Will you prepare for him differently to any other opponent?

I have to use my speed and my jab to keep him on the outside. I have a very specific game plan which i cannot divulge for obvious reasons.

Who do you think will win the Super six final and would you prefer to fight Ward or Froch?

I think if Ward's chin is solid then he should win an easy decision. But, if it is questionable, then Froch by KO. I would rather fight Froch to be honest. His style would mesh incredibly good with mine.

After business at super middleweight has been settled do you plan to move up to light heavyweight?

Yes but not for the time being. I have been working on increasing muscle mass in my shoulders and chest, so the transformation has already begun.

You have fought the majority of your fights in Canada. Would you like to fight in any other country or particular cities?

I would like to fight anywhere we recieve an offer! I get my Canadian citizenship next month, my USA visais valid until 2017 so all I need is a phone call from my promoter saying we got a decent offer to fight in the States. I think i would be so excited i would fall off my chair.

Super middleweight has produced some great fighters over the years. Who do you rank as the greatest?

Calzaghe. He retired undefeated and accomplished all his goals.
