Ringnews24.com: As an amateur fighter you achieved a lot, what is your favourite memory as an amateur?

Jason Estrada: I would have to say as a amateur my favorite moment was when I won the American games in 2003! Everything was perfect from training camp to coaches to team unity.

Ringnews24.com: You took a lot of criticism after your defeat at the Olympics because you kept repeating the phrase "it's no big deal" during the interview. I realize you were trying to show that you weren't going to let the questionable decision loss detour you from moving on to a pro career, but it came across poorly to some, as if you shrugged it off too easily for their taste. Do you regret that choice of words and how do you respond to those who criticized you?

Jason Estrada: When I lost in the Olympic games I was very upset and it was going to be a lose or lose situation ! The media training we had was that you should never act like a child and to be ”sportsmen” like and I tried very hard to be that way if I would have did what I really wanted to do I would have been criticized for unsportsmanlike (I really wanted to throw chairs swear and act crazy!) As far as regret I have only one and it has nothing to do with the press conference! I would have boxed the way I wanted to and knew how to instead of being a team player and following bad instructions!

Ringnews24.com: If a fighter was wanting to turn pro from the amateurs, what advice would you give them?

Jason Estrada: The advice I would give to someone turning pro would have to be just to learn how to relax and prepare mentally for the rush of adrenaline. That comes with your first pro fight.

Ringnews24.com: Your known as "Big Six" What does the nickname mean and how did it come about?

Jason Estrada: The name Big six came from when I was on the Pan am team with Lamont Peterson . We talked bout how my 6' 1 but look bigger when I step in the ring with bigger guys and he said” 6' 1 you look bigger then that when you in there you are a big six footer ” the rest is history or should I say my story !

Ringnews24.com: Heavyweight boxing used to be most popular division in boxing, however it has take a lot of criticism in recent years. What do you think of the division just now? and what would you do to improve it?

Jason Estrada: The heavyweight boxing scene has taken its shots but no matter what it will always be a division that makes money and will come back as a popular division just takes time. I don't know what I can do for it, but all I can do is be the best I can when the time comes!

Ringnews24.com: The Super 6 was a great success. Would you like to see a tournament made at heavyweight? Maybe one involving all American heavyweights with the winner receiving a shot at a World title. Would you like to see more initiatives like this to give the heavyweight scene some more exposure?

Jason Estrada: If the situation was right I would love to be apart of some super 6 type tournament.

Ringnews24.com: The Klitschko brothers have been dominating the division for many years now, can you see anyone beating them?

Jason Estrada: I can't speak for anyone but my self as far as fighting either of the Klitschko brothers and winning.

Ringnews24.com: Would you love a shot at one of the Klitschko brothers? and which one?

Jason Estrada: I would love the chance to fight either one but like anyone else you have to wait your turn and I'm waiting for my shot ! I think they are very smart fighters in the ring they do what they have to to get the win!

Ringnews24.com: If you could pick any Heavyweight to fight tomorrow past or present who would it be and why?

Jason Estrada: At this point I can't even pick one there are way to many out there that would be great!!

Ringnews24.com: Who was your favourite heavyweight of all time?

Jason Estrada: My favorite fighter of all times is Larry Homes !!!

Ringnews24.com: You had quiet a bad injury that kept you out of boxing for a while, could you tell us a bit about that?

Jason Estrada: The past few years I have had injuries that set me back first I had surgery on my foot then I had to have elbow surgery to remove bone chips hopefully I'm done and can now make a strong run!

Ringnews24.com: You showed that you aren't scared to travel by fighting Povetkin in Germany, are they any country's that you would like to fight in the future?

Jason Estrada: Even though the people of Germany where great I love fighting in the U.S. .

Ringnews24.com: You've been the distance with Adamek and Povetkin. Who wins, if they were to meet?

Jason Estrada: If Povetkin and Adamek  were to fight I would have to go with Povetkin but you never know boxing is a trick sport anything can happen.

Ringnews24.com: You're only 31 so relatively young compared to many of today's heavyweight's. Do you feel like you could continue for many more years as a fighter?

Jason Estrada: I'm 31 and could continue to fight for more years but I don't want to boxing is rough on my body and soon it will be time to find another career and I'll probably train others and work on the entertainment part of things .

Ringnews24.com: Big Six Entertainment hosted it's first boxing show on the 9th of December were you topped the bill, how did the show go and what are your plans for Big Six Entertainment?

Jason Estrada: The show Bigsix Entertainment hosted was very successful and we are now having another one March 9th at the Providence Convention Center!
