Dodson wants the last laugh
Tony Dodson has hit back after Paul Smith branded him a clown – and says he’ll have the last laugh when the pair meet on March 12.
They mouthwatering clash at the Liverpool Echo Arena is for Smith’s British super-middleweight title and is heating up to be an explosive encounter that will be televised live on Sky Sports 1.
“Smith may think I’m a clown, but I plan to wipe the smile off his face next month,” said Dodson.
“To be honest he’s a bit of a circus act, but I’m glad he keeps saying these things because it just gets me even more fired up.
“I’ve always said that I’ve got ultimate respect for him as a fighter.
Dangerous
“He can knock you out with either hand and that makes him very dangerous.
“But he’s not big enough for super-middleweight, and that’s going to put him a whole world of trouble on March 12.
“He’s a little boy messing with the big men now and he’s going to get found out sooner rather than later.
“Everyone keeps asking me when I’m going to shut Smith up, but they won’t have long to wait because there will be no more talking from him after I’ve beaten him.
“The loser won’t be able to show their face in Liverpool for weeks, and it’s not going to be me.”
