Former WBO super flyweight champion Marvin Sonsona (14-1-1, 12 KOs) jumped up two weight divisions, to contest the vacant WBO junior featherweight championship against Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr. (18-0-1, 15 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo Ruben Rodriguez in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
It was a jump up too far, for the young Filipino fighter as Vazquez Jnr (son of the great Wilfredo Vazquez), controlled the action and won by a fourth round knock-out.
A left hook to the body, in the fourth, put Sonsona down and the Filipino fighter was counted out by referee Luis Pabon.
