Frank Warren “hes my number one scot”

Ricky Burns was last night rated the number one Scot hes ever worked showing great professionalism and desire so far in his boxing career according to his promoter Frank Warren.

Warren helped lead tartan talent such as Scott Harrison and Alex Arthur to world titles only to then see them falter, however Warren doesn’t expect WBO super featherweight champion Burns to go the same way.

Ricky Burns (30-2, 7 KOs) will make his second defence of his title against Paul Appleby’s conquer  Joseph Laryea (14-4, 11 KO’s) at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow, on March 12.

The Ghanian had some words before the clash , he said: “I will come to Scotland to KO Burns. He disrespected me when I saw him and now I will gut him like a pig. Burns better be ready for war.”

Ricky said: “Paul underestimated him. Before the fight he was talking about facing me next and that was a mistake.”

Frank Warren is keen for Burns to stage a massive open-air contest in the summer in a “sexy fight” which could involve a unification showdown with IBF world champion Mzonke Fana.
