Former ‘Rocky V’ co-star and WBO heavyweight champion, Tommy Morrison caught up with http://www.ringnews24.com about many things, including his main battle in life to prove that he does not have the HIV virus, a potential movie career, his boxing career and the fans. Read on to see what Tommy had to say about himself, his thoughts and goals up until now:
Ringnews24.com: First of all, Tommy, how do you feel in yourself? Are you feeling just as good as always?
Tommy Morrison: Nothing in my life has ever changed other than me being kicked out of boxing. My health remains the same. I have never had any symptoms. I feel invigorated as I work my way towards another World Championship.

Ringnews24.com: You have stated that you would be willing to take a supervised blood test in front of the world that will detect the presence or absence of a contagious active HIV virus in your body. You have made numerous requests to the FDA, CDC, A.B.C, Boxing Commissions, Quest Labs and the “inventor” himself, Robert Gallo. Why do you feel that nobody has helped you with a simple test to prove that HIV is present or not ?
Tommy Morrison: Because it’s a fraud. Clear and simple. HIV has never been scientifically isolated or purified. No HIV virus photos are in existence, other than computer generated.
Ringnews24.com: What “road blocks” have you faced in trying to obtain your 1996 test results?
Tommy Morrison: No-one ever saw them. The Nevada Commission, doctors, me or my camp of 1996. Copies of emails can be provided to you to show the “road blocks” on their side.
Ringnews24.com: If you do not get the answers you seek then what is the next step to clear your name?
Tommy Morrison: I have received answers but none of which have shown proof that HIV exists. No scientific methodology used in discovering and no photos from any government agencies of the active contagious human virus. The next step is the court room.
Ringnews24.com: Say that your name is cleared, you will have lost out on a lot of potential earnings. Will you seek to recover these lost earnings?
Tommy Morrison: Yes, absolutely.
Ringnews24.com: You have said before that HIV is a myth. What did you mean by this?
Tommy Morrison: HIV is stated as being a “hypothesis”, an educated guess or opinion. I was shocked when I saw that.
Ringnews24.com: You have contacted the appropriate laboratory to request the original test results but to no avail. Do you really think there is some kind of cover up going on, or is there some rational explanation?
Tommy Morrison: There is nothing rational about any of this. Its plain and simple. Call it what you want. It’s the biggest medical fraud in the half of a century. No-one has my results and no-one ever saw them. It was all strictly handled by phone call from the Nevada Commission to my promoter.
Ringnews24.com: Your physique looks visually smaller in comparison to the mid 90’s and before. Is this due to a lack of training or some other reason?
Tommy Morrison: Evander Holyfield and I are the only two heavyweights that lose weight when not training. When you don’t train you don’t walk around at your fight weight. I weigh now 208-210. My training weight in the past has been 225. In my opinion when I fought in Mexico in 2008 I was 233 and I don’t like fighting over 230.

Ringnews24.com: Tommy, it was mentioned recently on a USA radio show called ‘Billy C Boxing’ that you was offered a blood test, but you refused. Why did you? Surely a visit to the the right authority to have a blood test would settle this dispute once and for all. If you were proven to be clear then surely you would be entitled to compensation for loss of earnings over the years you have lost in the ring.
Tommy Morrison: I have never refused to take a blood test that will detect the active contagious HIV virus that they state I am harboring. The two tests on the market have disclaimers to them written by the pharmaceutical companies that state they both do not detect HIV infection. Why would I take a test that cannot diagnose me for HIV infection? I have asked the world and the inventor of HIV for the TEST that WILL or WILL NOT detect HIV infection/active contagious virus in my body. I WILL and WOULD do this test in front of the WORLD.
The recent radio show with Billy C was conducted with someone that said he was my “former advisor”, and that is NOT the case. That person has nothing to do with my career or my life. Contact Billy C yourself regarding his interview and his thoughts now with regards to that “person” that he interviewed.
Ringnews24.com: Why did you not ask for an immediate re-test at the time of your original diagnosis?
Tommy Morrison: I was 27 years old and I had just been overwhelmed with what I thought was a tragedy. What would you do if you were told you were going to die by the time you got to your car and to get your house in order? The first thought that my camp had was to get me out of town because the media were swarming me. They wanted to get me on the first plane out of Vegas.
I was on a high for at least 5 or 6 hours..then I started zeroing in on what ways was this going to change my existence. You think of everything at once. Nothing makes sense. They are telling me I am dieing, and every fiber in my body is screaming that I am fine.
Ringnews24.com: Are you optimistic that you will eventually get to the bottom of this matter once and for all in the future? It has already been 15 years since this has altered your life and affected your boxing career.
Tommy Morrison: I have got to the bottom of this. That’s where I am writing this email from, the bottom. NO scientific proof that HIV VIRUS exists. Period. NO test that scientifically detects any lurking or active deadly contagious virus that was named HIV by Robert Gallo in 1984 (without him actually showing photos or EM’s of the virus and without him actually showing what scientific methods he used to discover/invent the virus!)
YES, Robert Gallo and his invention HAS stolen my life and my career from me. He is my biggest opponent at this time. BUT I will win this fight too.

Ringnews24.com: Now, concerning your boxing career, would you be aiming for a title shot if you were to make a full comeback? If so, and depending on July 2nd’s outcome of the Haye vs Klitschko bout, who would you ideally like to fight?
Tommy Morrison: Absolutely. Wladimir Klitschko after a few tune-up fights.
Ringnews24.com: Would you be confident of competing with today’s current crop of elite heavyweights?
Tommy Morrison: Yes, without a doubt. None of my “tools” have diminished. I am a more seasoned athlete and more methodical in my approach to boxing.
Ringnews24.com: What would you say was your toughest fight in your career, Tommy, and why?
Tommy Morrison: Joe Hipp. Because I broke both my hands, my jaw and had a 38 stitch cut over my right eye, and I was able to come back and knock him out in my 9th round. I recently met up with Joe and he is also interested in fighting a rematch.
Ringnews24.com: You’ve said before in other interviews that you want to get into movies again. Is that still a goal?
Tommy Morrison: YES, very much so. That’s my other passion. I have no doubt that I will be a natural. I enjoyed watching Micky Ward’s ‘The Fighter’ movie, but there has never been a story that has ever covered so many intricate avenues on one person’s life.

Ringnews24.com: Is there any chance of you appearing at conventions in the future for your fans? I know there is demand! People have even told me they wish to meet you here in the UK!
Tommy Morrison: I have a passport, I will travel! My wife is a Brit, so get someone to invite us over! We’d be there!
Ringnews24.com: Lastly, is there anything you want to say to your fans out there?
Tommy Morrison: Yes, no-one really knows what my life has been like over the last 15 years. Dark. Alone. But the amazing loyalty I get from my fans is what has kept me going. I feel that, not only did my career get side-tracked and my reputation trampled on, it’s an incident that has affected every area of my life, and continues to do so until this gets cleared up. You guys have been instrumental in giving me guidance and direction to pursue and capture my goal to be heavyweight champion again. I know I can do this.
