Chris Evangelou ‘The Flash’ is a fighter with a bright future and one to watch on the domestic U.K. boxing scene. The former London and England ABA Champion has quickly racked up a 7-0, 1 KO record in the Professional ranks and returns to the ring on July 23rd on the under card of the big Heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Derek Chisora at Wembley Arena.

The 25 year old brings fast hands, high work rate, great conditioning and solid technical ability to the ring and despite his low KO percentage; does pack power in both hands with sharp, crisp punching out of the orthodox stance.

Chris was kind enough to answer a few of ringnews24.com’s questions.

RN24: Where Do You Train & Who Trains you?

CE: I am currently training with my older brother Andreas
at my fathers boxing gym in Edmonton, North London. Our coach is
Paulo Muhongo who is very experienced in boxing as he grew up and trained with the
Cuban team for years. He also trained and fought for Germany for many years.

RN24: Titles Aiming For?

CE: I want to be British champion within the next 2 years.
Eventually I want to be a World Champion, anything less then I’ve failed as a
fighter.

RN24: Fighters you’d like to face now in England or the US?

CE: I don’t really have a grudge with any fighters right now.
All I know is that in a few years I’m going to be up there with the best of
them.

RN24: Ambitions in Boxing?

CE: My main ambition in boxing is to become a World champion –
that’s the ultimate dream for me.

‘The Flash’ already has a good fan base that has followed him since his successful amateur days and he is going to be a major player in the Jnr. Welterweight and Welterweight divisions in the UK which are currently very competitive. The skills, ambition and team are there and it’s just up to us fans to get behind him and enjoy the journey.
