Cunningham v Hernandez live on Boxnation tonight

This Saturday (1st October) sees the first world title fight on new dedicated boxing channel BoxNation (Sky Platform Channel 456) between IBF World Cruiserweight Champion Steve Cunningham and challenger Yoan Pablo Hernandez LIVE from Germany.

It’s the first of many top fights from Germany’s premier promoter Sauerland Event, who have signed an exclusive three year deal with BoxNation to televise their stable of talent, that will bring LIVE in the coming months: Marco Huck v Frank Haroche Horta for the WBO World Cruiserweight Championship on 22 October; Mikkel Kessler v Robert Stieglitz for the WBO World Super-Middleweight title on 5 November; plus new WBA World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin making the first defence of his title against a top ten rated challenger on 17 December.

Kalle Sauerland, “We delighted at Team Sauerland and our international television partners at Kentaro that our boxing shows will again reach the UK boxing fans via BoxNation. Starting with Steve Cunningham v Pablo Hernandez this Saturday they will be in for a real treat! Get ready for action-packed shows featuring Mikkel Kessler, Marco Huck, Arthur Abraham, Alexander Povetkin, Robert Helenius and many more in the nearest future!”

Cunningham, the two-time IBF World Champion, said, “I am happy for my title defence to be shown live on BoxNation in the UK. I have defeated all reigning cruiserweight champions and on Saturday UK boxing fans will get a first-hand look at my talents. I am the best cruiserweight out there and I will again prove it against a top challenger like Hernandez.”

Hernandez, who won the Interim WBA World title in his last fight, said, “I’m looking forward to giving UK boxing fans an explosive performance live on BoxNation. I know the English fans know their boxing and I will put on a fight to remember against Cunningham.”
