Promoter Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing wishes to congratulate Poland’s WBC cruiserweight champion Krzysztof “Diablo” Wlodarczyk (46-2-1, 36 KOs) for his 11th round TKO victory over former world champion Danny Green at Challenge Stadium, in Perth, Australia, last Wednesday night.
Green got out to an early lead and had been leading all judges’ scorecards (97-93, 97-93 and 96-93) before Wlodarczyk found the range with his hard punches. In the 11th round Wlodarczyk knocked Green down hard and referee Michael Griffin wisely stopped the fight at 2:15.
“It was a fantastic win for a great champion,” said Margules of his long-time fighter’s potentially career-defining victory. “It takes a lot of heart to come from behind and win in sensational fashion like that – especially in the other guy’s hometown.”
Future career opportunities for Wlodarczyk are many, including the possibility of a high-profile battle against fellow Green conqueror and former world champion Antonio “Magic Man” Tarver.
“Right now Krzysztof is on a well-deserved vacation and we’ll be sitting down to figure out the next move when he returns. He definitely got everyone’s attention with the dramatic way he won that fight. He’s got a lot of options in front of him now and we’ll figure out the best one for him then.”
