Head of the Hatton Group, Ricky Hatton received a certificate in recognition of links between the highly rated college and his private members gym in Hyde on the outskirts of Manchester.
College principal Sir Bill Moorcroft and Sally Waterfield who trains many of Hatton Health and Fitness Apprentices paid a visit to the Hatton HQ in Hyde on Wednesday 1st February.
Eleven staff members at Hatton Health and Fitness are Trafford College Apprentices studying towards qualifications in personal training and customer services.
Two weight-world champ Ricky says a good relationship in the gym’s relaxing environment between staff and loyal Hatton Health and Fitness members is something he encourages.
He said: “Our strong belief is that people come to gyms to interact with the staff and fellow members not to enter a cold place where you pay a lot and get little customer care.
“Our Apprentices are living proof that our belief in customer care and interaction with members is absolutely the right path to continue to follow.
“The staff we have are fantastic with members and a lot of that is what they have been taught by the college. I am delighted to that we have received recognition.”
Tutors like Sally have been visiting the gym for more than two years and played a major part in the development of the young and enthusiastic staff employed at Hatton Health and Fitness.
Hatton added: “Trafford College tutors have provided us with great support and given our staff that extra motivation – which is reflected in our membership retention.”
