Undefeated Heavyweight Sensation ‘Mago’ Hosting Press Conference in NYC
An important press conference for heavyweight crusher Magomed “Mago” Abdusalamov will be held for the Russian media on Friday, March 16, at 11 am at the luxurious Monaco Restaurant & Lounge in Brooklyn, New York (1836 McDonald Avenue).
This Saturday, Abdusalamov (13-0, 13 KOs) will face Viriginia’s fellow undefeated Jason Pettway (11-0, 8 KOs) for the vacant WBC United States (USNBC) Silver heavyweight title on the undercard of DiBella Entertainment’s “THE REAL Middleweight Championship – Get Your Irish Up” Sergio Martinez vs. Mathew Macklin fight at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
In attendance at the conference will be Abdusalamov and opponent Pettway, plus Abdusalamov’s manager/father figure Boris Grimberg and his exclusive promoter, Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing. The entire press event will be translated and broadcast live to Channel 2 of Russia.
“The Russian people have the fever for Mago because they know before the rest of the world that he is the next heavyweight champion of the world. They are very excited about this,” said Lewkowicz. “The Russian media is spending big money to broadcast this event across the world to his people back home. When Mago fights it is a very important event for their country.”
