Cayo and Campbell Ready to Rumble in Dominican Republic This Saturday, March 24
The entire tropical paradise of the Dominican Republic is lit up with excitement over this Saturday, March 24’s professional boxing event at the Palacio de Los Deportes in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic,
The Sampson Boxing and Manguita Promotions main event will feature Santo Domingo’s own Victor “Mermelada” Cayo (27-2, 19 KOs) taking on Jacksonville, Florida’s former unified lightweight world champion Nate “The Galaxxy Warrior” Campbell (34-9-1, 25 KOs) over 10 bruising rounds or less.
On the undercard, hometown world champion Dahiana Santana (28-6, 12 KOs) will defend her IBF Featherweight Championship in a 10-round rematch against former champion Stacey Reile (10-4, 4 KOs) of Miami, Florida.
And in the other women’s title fight, IBF Junior Featherweight Champion Ada Velez (20-3-3, 6 KOs) will defend her belt against Santo Domingo native and once-beaten contender Katy Wilson Castillo (14-1, 9 KOs).
Also scheduled for the undercard is a pair of young knockout artists: junior welterweight Juan Carlos Abregu (6-0, 6 KOs) and featherweight Braulio “El Chavo” Rodriguez (6-0, 6 KOs).
The event will be televised by Super Canal Caribe, which can boast 2.5 million viewers in the US with a presence in Dallas, Tampa, Baltimore, Washington, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Boston, Los Angeles, Ft. Wayne, Richmond, Norfolk, Pittsburgh, Providence, Buffalo, Harrisburg and Syracuse, as well as 900,000 subscribers Venezuela and the Caribbean and 60,000 viewers in El Salvador.
