Legendary five weight boxing legend, Sugar Ray Leonard has stated that he wished that he found the game of golf much earlier in his life.
“I wish I had found this game back in the day. Back when I was still fighting, it wasn’t my cup of tea. I used to train near golf courses all the time, but I never gave it a second thought about picking up a club and actually playing. It’s a lot like boxing,” he said. It’s one on one, you against the course. You have to control your emotions and not let the course get the best of you.”
Leonard was asked to give his take on the much talked about Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr fight situation.
“I’m very disappointed it hasn’t happened,” Leonard said. “In my time, you wanted to fight the best. You would never think of ducking someone. I just want them to fight before they’re 38, 39, and it’s too late.”
