After his shock defeat at the hands of Derry Mathews on Saturday night, Anthony Crolla has requested a rematch.
Crolla was stopped in controversial circumstances by referee, John Keane who stepped in to rescue Crolla in the sixth round after the Mancunian fighter was floored and cut in the third and fourth, respectively.
Talking to menmedia.co.uk, his trainer Joe Gallagher said: “This was a voluntary defence for Anthony. We gave Derry Mathews a chance and hopefully he will repay the favour.
“We’ve done it in Manchester, now let’s do it in Liverpool. This has got the potential to be a great series in the manner of Jamie Moore and Michael Jones.
“It was a fantastic fight and I’m sure television would want to see it again, this time in an even bigger arena.”
