Manny Pacquiao robbed in Vegas

Manny Pacquiao became the victim of poor judging, as he dropped a 12 round split decision to challenger Timothy Bradley on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The WBO welterweight contest was quiet at times though several times Manny Pacquiao’s greater power told and Bradley had no answer to the Filipinos straight left or hand speed.

Bradley injured his ankle in the fourth round while trying to escape the fistic onslaught from Pacquiao. At times in the bout, the rounds only came alive in the last minute and usually in the champions favour. Pacquiao was quicker through-out the bout and dictated the flow of the action, while also showing a better defence. He did ‘cruise’ some rounds but there was little coming from Bradley.

The decision has shocked the boxing World, as the general consensus was that Manny Pacquiao clearly won. But judges Duane Ford and C.J. Ross inexplicably had Californian, Bradley winning by scores of 115-113. The other judge Jerry Roth had it for the Filipino man 115-113.

Pacquiao’s record falls to 54-4-2, 38 KOs while Bradley remains unbeaten at 29-0, 12 KOs.

I had the champion, Manny Pacquiao, clearly winning by 117-112 and the decision leaves a bad taste. No doubt there will be a rematch and on the basis of last night’s fight – I can only see one winner.
