In Atlantic City, New Jersey tonight, young explosive Joel Diaz Jr. (10-0) takes on Puerto Rico born fighter Guillermo Sanchez (13-6-1) in a contest at 130lbs.
Diaz Jr. has begun to pop up on the radar of many boxing fans at this early stage in his career despite only being 20 years old. The reason for this is his explosive power and action-packed style, which accompanies his pin-point accuracy. He really is a future star of the sport.
His opponent, Sanchez is really an easy task for Diaz, losing six of his last eight bouts. There is very little chance Sanchez will have any answer to what Diaz brings to the table as his ability is way off standard and in my opinion he is there to pad the record of the young powerful prospect.
To conclude, I do not see Sanchez lasting more than three rounds and if he does fair play to him. This is a complete mismatch and not necessarily a riveting affair, but such is boxing at times. Diaz Jr will look to breeze his way through this stage in his career hoping to gain more lucrative and meaningful bouts in the coming years.
