Ringnews24.com: You have been training in UK and more recently USA, could you tell us a little about the differences in training? What stands out for you?
There’s not a great deal of difference. Boxing is boxing, but the sparring is open to the public here, where, in England it can be more private.
Ringnews24.com: You have been quoted in the press 2013 will be your “do or die year as a professional.” What did you mean by that?
Just the fact that I’ve been very inactive and I need to fight regular and move forward with my career.
Ringnews24.com: Being an undefeated fighter but not being able to ply your craft must have been extremely frustrating. How did you stay positive?
It was hard to stay positive and a lot of the time I didn’t stay positive. But you know we are professionals, so we just gotta keep going.
Ringnews24.com: Before the John Anthony fight you had three cancelled fights and an injury and twelve months away from boxing. With the lack of fights, did you ever think your future lay away from boxing?
Yeah, I thought about leaving boxing behind a couple of times, if I’m honest. But it’s my life. I love the game and I’ll be involved in boxing until the day I die.
Ringnews24.com : What is going on with your boxing career now – can you tell readers when, where and against whom you will be fighting next?
Next fight is going to be at Wembley 20th July on the Big Behind Enemy Lines bill.
Ringnews24.com: Do you have any short term goals or long term goals that you would like to achieve and have you set yourself a timescale on your goals?
Just to stay active and get in to title contention as quick as possible.
Ringnews24.com: Who would you like to fight in the near future?
I have got no one on my radar. I’m not the kind of kid to call people out I just wanna get in that title mix.
Ringnews24.com: Do you have a message for the fans?
Thanks for following me even through the last 12 months I haven’t been fighting. Appreciate all support @CallumTheOne.
