Ohios’ undefeated Wilkins Santiago joins Ringnews24 boxing radio to chat about his training camps and life as a fighter while looking forward to his upcoming fight.
Anthony George: What’s going on with you, you’re the one that’s got all all these fights and getting all this attention. It’s been a while since we spoke – give us a little synopsis of the last 3 or 4 months for you up until tonight.
Wilkins Santiago: Well, actually, I have just tried to stay focused and stay in these camps, actually, I just got back from a Mayweather camp – only about a week and a half ago. It was a blessing on its own; I thank Kenny Porter and Shawn Porter for actually giving me that call. Being Shawn’s sparring partner for Lo Greco, he came out on top as well, with a Unanimous Decision, he looked real superb in that fight. It has been an honor to have been in such a camp, also I was in the Spadafora camp before that. So just to be in both camps, you know those two camps itself is a blessing, they got over 100 something wins between Mayweather and Spadafora and no losses. I couldn’t ask for anything better, I was grateful for the opportunity. I took it in hand and I trained hard and was working hard – day in and day out, seven days a week. I am getting ready for July 13th at the Molineaux, Roy Jones JR and TNT promotions. They brought me back in the house, actually, I am the main event on the card. I have a tough opponent in front of me, but I am ready to go, I work day in, day out hard and I’m focused more than ever.
