Kell Brook vs Carson Jones II – The Rematch Preview

Tonight in the city of Hull, Kell Brook returns to the squared circle to quash all the doubters of his boxing ability. The venue for Brook’s return will be The Craven Park Stadium in Hull, Yorkshire.

The last time Kell ‘The Special One’ Brook 29-0 (19 KOs) faced off against the tough, hard hitting and prepared to travel to any destination to fight, American welterweight  Carson Jones 35-9 (25 KOs) Brook looked like the skilled fighter that he is over the course of the first six rounds.

Carson Jones at times took all Brook’s biggest shots and kept coming looking for the Sheffield pugilist. Brook had not had this to deal with in his previous bouts. Sometime between the fifth and the sixth round, Jones broke Brook’s nose, a bad break. Brook was bleeding a lot and also breathing in his own blood, which was a problem.

Carson Jones started to take over the bout after the midway mark landing big shots on Brook Kell Brook took all the shots well and his chin was certainly tested for the first time of asking, which was something all the fans of Brook were wanting to see, but not to the extent that Carson Jones delivered.
Coming towards the end of the bout Brook looked weak in the twelfth round I thought Jones had Brook on the way out and the ref may step in at any given moment. As a long time Brook fan, I was very tense and even sweating slightly.

I thought the fight was very, very close and maybe a draw was a fair result, I don’t think anyone could argue as the fight was close and could have went either way on the scorecards.
Carson Jones will be out to prove everyone wrong, and that even though with nine professional defeats, Jones has the ability to improve and step his game up a level or two.

Brook will be looking to banish the demons of not only has last fight vs Carson Jones, but also the nightmare he has been living since his injury problems with his proposed bout vs American IBF welterweight champion, Devon Alexander.
Let’s hope all Brook’s problems are behind him for good and he can make positive strides in the right direction, and get back on course for a world title bid.

I predict the bout will go to points again. Kell Brook has changed his diet, his training and his nutrition methods since the previous fight against Jones and will want to display this and show the improvements he has made. Carson Jones will want to put a bigger beating on Brook than he did last time out, and he has the power to do so, as we have seen. Carson Jones is an underrated fighter.

I predict Kell Brook will win the bout via a unanimous decision on the scorecards. If the fight is anything like their last encounter, be ready for fireworks!

Good luck to both men.
