Ricky Hatton takes his Hatton Academy to Ireland

Four-time world champion Ricky ‘Hitman’ Hatton is taking his popular Hatton Academy to Ireland.

Launched earlier this year, the academy aims to teach fitness instructors, personal trainers and boxing coaches on ways they can improve their teaching methods and skills.

It is the only boxing fitness course to have official accreditation from the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE), the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REP).

The first courses on the Emerald Isle will be held in Limerick on August 10 and 11, with further dates scheduled for Belfast and Galway in September and Dublin in October.

“I’m really excited to see the Hatton Academy grow into Ireland,” Ricky said.

“I always had a great following in Ireland and know how popular boxing is over there.

“To have the opportunity to educate fans, fitness professionals and boxing coaches is great and my academy team are looking forward to it.”

Jon Eade, Hatton Academy’s training and educational director, added: “I am in talks with a couple of big names to launch our Academy workshops as well as our training courses

“The courses in the UK have been very well received so I thought it was time to progress into Ireland.

“We have our first course running in Limerick 10th and 11th which already has people booked on.”
