Youth vs experience as Skoglund faces Mock for EU Light Heavyweight Title on October 19th

When Team Sauerland´s up-and-coming talent Erik Skoglund (17-0, 9 KOs) fights Danish veteran Lolenga Mock (31-13-1, 12 KOs) at the Nordic Fight Night in Kolding on October 19, there will be more at stake than just the European Union Light Heavyweight Title.

It will also be a battle of rivalling teams, with Mock being represented by Hall of Fame Promoter Mogens Palle, who was present at today´s press conference at TRE-FOR Arena. “It´s always special to make a fight with Mogens,” Nisse Sauerland said. “It adds some spice to the fight, but clearly the focus should not be on the promoters but on the fighters in the ring. Skoglund versus Mock is an exciting match-up, a classic youth-versus-experience battle, and we´re very confident that Erik will beat Lolenga to become the new EU Champion.”

Skoglund, who trains in Germany, is looking forward to his biggest challenge to date. “It will be my toughest fight ever. I think Lolenga had his pro debut two weeks before I was born. I saw his last fight, it was very good, so I will prepared for 12 tough rounds against him. I have what it takes to beat him.”

Said Mock: “It´s going to be a good fight. Skoglund is an up-and-coming talent but I will win.

Three of Team Sauerland´s Danish fighters will also be in action – Torben Keller, Dennis Ceylan and Micki Nielsen. Their opponents will be announced shortly. “It´s almost like fighting at home,” Keller stated. “I was born and raised in Skaerbaek in the Western part of Jutland, so I am really looking forward to fighting in Kolding. I have many friends here and hope the fans will make me feel at home. I have overcome my hand injury and I am ready to kick some butt in the ring.”

In a local fight, Kim Poulsen – from Horsens – will take on Puriya Haidari, who is from Aarhus. “This is going to be interesting,” Poulsen said. “He is undefeated and a good boxer, but I know what I have to do to beat him.”

Said Haidari: “It will be my first eight-round fight. As Kim said, I am undefeated and hopefully I can still say that after our fight.”
