KO king Oscar Ahlin (8-0, 8 KOs) will be looking for the next impressive win on his resume when he faces experienced Sirhey Demchenko (14-5, 10 KOs) at the Nordic Fight Night in Kolding on October 19.
For the first time of his career, Ahlin is slated to fight eight-rounds – if the fight goes the distance. The 23-year-old Swede has dispatched all of his previous eight opponents inside the distance, giving him a rare KO percentage of 100 percent. Demchenko, on the other hand, has clinched 10 of his 14 wins by KO. “This will be a fun fight,” Ahlin said. “Demchenko is experienced and quite durable. He can take a punch, he has only been stopped once in his career. But I have already seen some holes in his defence. Of course I can´t predict a KO win, but if the chance arises, I will definitely go for it.”
Ahlin is currently working out in Berlin. He will be sparring with fellow unbeaten Swede Erik Skoglund (17-0, 9 KOs), who faces Lolenga Mock for the EU Light Heavyweight Title in Kolding. “It´s fun to be in Berlin,” Ahlin said. “I get some great training over here. I´ll stay one week and then go back to Stockholm.”
Promoter Nisse Sauerland is convinced that Ahlin will continue his KO streak. “We believe in Oscar´s talent and we are not concerned to move him fast,” he stated. “Demchenko is a quality opponent with decent power, but I am sure Oscar will find a way to break him down. There´s something special about him and it´s not just the fact that he is 8-0 with 8 KOs. Oscar got a special talent, a special gift and it´s a pleasure to see him fight. We look forward to another impressive display of power on October 19.”
