Liam Hanrahan’s opportunity to add more substance to his impressive ledger was today dealt a blow with the announcement that upcoming foe, Jamie Speight, had to withdraw from their November 22nd bout due to work commitments. The Devon super-bantamweight, who has recently gave superb accounts of himself in title clashes with Jon Fernandes, Josh Warrington and Lewis Pettit, was seen as an ideal step-up for the Macclesfield puncher who currently boasts a flawless 5-0 slate. Promoter Dave Coldwell is on the search for an adequate replacement.
“I’m a little disappointed to be honest because this was a fight that I was looking forward to. Liam is one of a number of quality little boxers that I’ve got and I’m really looking forward to watching how he progresses over the next few years. He’s taken to the pro game like a duck to water and I couldn’t be happier with how he’s performed. November 22nd was supposed to be a good step up for him but that has now fallen through. Hopefully it will be another great night for him.”
