Jose Pinzon: Victory over Nielsen will put me close to world title shot

Jose Pinzon (24-5, 15 KOs) believes a victory over WBA & WBO Intercontinental Middleweight Champion Patrick Nielsen (20-0, 9 KOs) on November 16 will put him in line for a world title shot.

The 26-year-old Mexican, who is nicknamed “Barretas”, travels to Denmark with big ambitions. “If you have the WBA and WBO Intercontinental belts, it means that you are close to a world title fight,” he stated. “And that is my goal. I have had two gruelling training sessions a day in Mérida, Yucatán (Mexico). I will jump into that ring to win and give the fans a good fight.”

Pinzon claims he is more than Nielsen can handle.

“I have the Mexican style. I go forward and throw many punches,” he stated.

“I have a very good mental and physical condition and good power.

“Nielsen is a good fighter but until this moment has not fought with a real good opponent.

Pinzon is unimpressed by the hostile crowd that awaits him at Musikteatret Albertslund.

“This is not the first time that am fighting outside my country,” he said. “I know that the fans will be with him. That means that he will try his best like me – and nothing else.”

Tickets for the Nordic Fight Night at Musikteatret Albertslund are available at www.billetnet.dk.
