In the 12 Round Main Event, Paul “The Pittsburgh Kid” Spadafora challenges Johan “El Terrible” Perez of Caracas, Venezuela for the WBA Super Lightweight Interim World Title.
Spadafora (48W-0L-1D, 19KO), the former IBF World Champion, following an extended period of lows has astonishingly roared back over the past year with three victories over top contenders including capturing the NABF Title in his last bout jetting himself back to the top of the division & earning another crack at another World Championship. In addition to this momentous opportunity the fight represents Spadafora’s attempt to tie the late great Rocky Marciano all-time record of 49 wins without a loss & continue his pursuit of a future showdown with boxing’s king Floyd Mayweather whom he as a highly publicized history as the only man on the planet to get the better of Mayweather inside the ring.
Perez (17W-1L-1D, 12KO), the former WBA Interim World Champion & current WBA International Champion, is coming off two consecutive televised victories on Showtime over Japan’s 22W-0L Yoshihiro Kamegai & former World Champion Steve Forbes. The power punching Venezuelan simply known as “El Terrible” is determined to have his hands raised in victory over Spadafora to claim gold & keep his name a top the world stage.
