Nathan Cleverly warned that he’ll be knocked out again

Former WBO World Light-Heavyweight Champion Nathan Cleverly has been warned that he will be knocked-out again in his comeback against Daniel Ammann at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday 30th November.

The Welsh stars aims to become a two-time world champion when he begins his campaign in the cruiserweight division and takes on Ammann for the Vacant Commonwealth title.

But one of Ammann’s team, renown Australian fight figure Angelo Hyder, says Cleverly has made a big mistake taking on the rough Aussie.

“I’m surprised that Cleverly took Ammann for his first fight back after being knocked out by Sergey Kovalev.  This boy is as rough and tough as they come and if Cleverly is expecting an easy night and to be handed the title then he’s in for a wake up call, or that should be a good night call,” Said Hyder.

“Ammann is a big, raw, tough, bone-crunching, rough neck who’ll shake Cleverly to his boots when he lands with his punches.  This guy could knock a cookaburra off a tree branch from 25 metres with just a spit.  Once this guy starts roughing Cleverly up, it’s going to be ‘Timber’ for Cleverly again,”

“Ammann is the real Crocodile Dundee.  I could drop him into a swamp of crocodiles and he’d come out with crocodile skin boots.  Make no mistake, Ammann is one tough son of a bitch.”

Hyder also points to the past when he brought over Adam Watt to take on Bruce Scott in June 2000 in Glasgow for the vacant Commonwealth Cruiserweight title, with Watt causing a huge upset to stop Scott inside four rounds.

He added, “I remember coming over to Scotland many years ago with another tough guy called Adam Watt, to fight for the same title that Cleverly and Ammann are going for now, and he was the underdog then going in against Scott, but he put on a tremendous performance to silence the home crowd that night and we came away with the title,”

“Ammann is hungry and ready to fight.  He’s been waiting for a big opportunity to showcase himself on the big stage, just like Watt, and his eyes lit up when I said do you fancy going over to London to fight Cleverly, he wants it big time and reckons he’ll do a number on him,”

“I’ve always rated Cleverly though, he’s a class act and a superb boxer.  That was a hard loss to Kovalev and he’s going to be looking to prove that he’s harder and faster at cruiserweight.  I’ve got to back my man though and we’ll coming home with the title.”

Dereck Chisora headlines the Copper Box Arena with the first defence of his European Heavyweight title against Matteo Modugno; Nathan Cleverly challenges Daniel Ammann for the Vacant Commonwealth Cruiserweight Championship; plus London sensation Frank Buglioni challenges for the Vacant WBO European title and Bradley Skeete v Colin Lynes for the Vacant English Welterweight title.  An action-packed undercard features Mitchell Smith, Andreas and Chris Evangelou, Georgie Kean, Gary Corcoran and Tom Baker.
