England’s Johnny Quigley has always dreamed of boxing in America. On October 19th, he made that dream a reality. In his U.S. debut, Johnny was victorious with a first round KO over opponent Jahaad Wingfield. Now, Quigley looks to continue his voyage from Liverpool to the States on the November 14, 2013 during Hollywood Fight Night VI. HFN went 12 quick rounds with Johnny Quigley.

Q: What made you want to be a boxer?
A: It’s a family tradition.

Q: What age did you start boxing?
A: On my 6th birthday.
Round 3:
Q: How is your boxing career going so far?
A: I’m undefeated and working towards getting in the rankings and headed towards a title fight. So far so good.
Round 4:
Q: What is your best punch?
A: If I’m fighting southpaw it’s a long uppercut or a left hook.

Q: Who is your trainer?
A: My father in the UK and Courage Tshabalala in the US, I’ve got the best of both worlds.

Q: Where do you train?
A: When I’m in LA I train at Box and Burn in Santa Monica and in the UK I train at Kirkby ABC with my father.

Q: What is your favorite and least favorite part of boxing?
A: My favorite part is winning! Least favorite part has to be dieting!!

Q: What makes you tough?
A: My upbringing. My British grit.

Q: How do you feel about the importance of the knockout?
A: The importance of a win is greater than a KO, if it comes by KO then that’s great.

A: Punching people for a living. Lol…

A: I have a great family and team that helps keep me in order.

A: I honestly have no answer for that question as boxing is everything thing I know.
