Adrien Broner in fighting shape ahead of Marcos Maidana clash

Some thought that Adrian Broner was eating his way out of another division, as he looked well over the 147lbs welterweight limit when his mouth-watering clash with Marcos Maidana was officially announced.

The American was a super-featherweight champion, at the end of 2011, and has jumped several divisions in a short period of time; capturing belts at lightweight and welterweight. The photos didn’t inspire confidence that “The Problem” didn’t have a serious problem with his favoured Twinkie bars.

Now though it looks like Broner has knuckled-down and is already in fighting shape, weighing 146lbs – already one pound inside the welterweight limit.

This is good news for boxing fans and a case of the champion realising that he has a deadly serious challenge from Argentine, Marcos Maidana on 14th December, 2013.

Marcos Maidana brings an all action, aggressive style along with the experience of having been a two-weight world champion. Maidana is always in top condition and brings to the table a record of 34-3, 31 KOs against the undefeated champions impressive 27-0, 22 KOs.

The Golden Boy Promotion takes place at the Alamodome, San Antonio, Texas, USA and will be broadcast live on Showtime. The fight has caught the fans attention and thankfully, we will have two top fighters in top shape come the 14th of this month.
