Prospect Boxing Kick of 2014 with a Smoking Show

After a successful 2012, Prospect Boxing returns to the familiar venue of Ravenscraig Sports Facility in Motherwell on Friday 28th February 2013 with a 13 fight card called “Lock,Stock and 12 Smoking Fights” , which is headlined by British Title Challenger and WBO European Flyweight Champion Iain Butcher.

Making their pro débuts on the evening is JP McGuinness who squares off against fellow débutante Shayan Rahmat, while Shaun McShane also fights for the first time as a pro, in a Light Welterweight bout against Martin McCord over 6 rounds. Completing the list of fighters making there paid début at Ravenscraig, is Lee Gallagher and Michael McGurk

Looking for his first win is Scott Edgar as he fights for the first time in Scotland since 2012, while Billy Campbell looks to overcome his loss to Mike Towell after his last fight at the Lanarkshire venue. With a perfect seven wins from seven bouts, Matthew McAllister looks to make it Eight wins as he fights for the first time this year and returns after a spell training with Manchester trainer Bob Shannon.

With a strong Scottish following, Belfast based Irish Super featherweight champion James Tennyson makes a welcome return to the Prospect ring, as he looks he fights over Six rounds. Completing the line up is Davie Drummond, Rhys Pagan and Sean Watson, while Commonwealth title challenger Mitch Prince also returns to action in what should be his second fight of the year

Confirming the bumper bill, Promoter Paul Graham looks forward to the event “12 fights in one night is what were aiming for. We had a similar one last year called the ‘Steelmen’, and the feedback we had was excellent, so I wanted to do the same again for my first show of the year. We have a few guys making there debut mixed in with established fighters and a few guys who have been on the road in recent fights and all at different weights. In this current climate it is hard to compete with other events going on but we feel that with what Prospect is offering we can mix it with the rest, and give them something a bit different with local fighters.

He adds “Grassroots boxing at this level relies on the fighters getting out regular and building a reputation and a following in their respective communities, so shows like this with the volume of fights we have really make it worthwhile for the fighters and the fans alike, and without them it would be hard to keep putting the shows. We also have done well to have the loyalty of our Sponsors C and C Motcare, ACS and Ringside Boxing Equipment.

Lock,Stock and 12 Smoking Fights takes place on Friday 28th February 2013 at Ravenscraig Sports Facility in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire. Tickets are priced at £30 and £50 and available from the figthers directly or by calling 01698 338 888 were Credit/ Debit Cards are accepted.
