Pro Box North show re-scheduled due to Sunderland FC’s cup run

The date of Pro Box North East’s forthcoming show, originally set for March 1, has now been re-scheduled to the new date of Friday March 7 due to Sunderland FC’s recent League Cup heroics.

The ‘Black Cats’ are set to face Manchester City at Wembley on March 2, after beating City’s rivals United in the semi-final.  And promoter, and huge Sunderland FC fan, Phil Jeffries has decided on the date-change to give North East sporting fans the chance to attend both upcoming events.

“It was amazing that Sunderland put United out of the cup and are now at Wembley, well done to all the lads,” stated Jeffries. “I’m a big supporter of the club, as are plenty of the fans that come to my boxing shows, so it seems sensible to change the date of our next show to accommodate everybody.

“The new date, March 7th, will give everyone the chance to watch a great night of boxing after Sunderland have lifted the trophy! I’m really looking forward to this next show, Kirk Goodings against Gary Fox is going to be a belter, a proper North East derby fight, and the rest of the card is stacked with talent.

“It’s going to be a great couple of weeks of sporting entertainment. We’ve got some of the North East’s best fighters on this bill and now Sunderland FC have just put the icing on the cake.”

Pro Box North East presents Kirk Goodings defending his English lightweight title against Gary Fox on March 7 at the Rainton Meadows Arena.  Appearing on the undercard will be Sunderland’s Jonson McClumpha and Jordan King; Easington’s Paul Archer; Gateshead’s Rob Ismay; Hartlepool’s Michael Hadfield; Northumberland’s Lewis Scott, and County Durham’s Tommy Ward.  More bouts will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
