Curtis Stevens vs Patrick Majewski Fight Preview

Friday 24.01.14 will see Curtis ‘showtime’ Stevens face off against Patrick ‘the Machine’ Majewski at Resorts international Atlantic city , New Jersey. Stevens 25-4, 18kos  weighed in at 160.5lbs at the official weigh in while  Majewski  21-2, 13kos weighed in at  161.5lbs. Majewski  has a 5″ height advantage over Stevens.

Both fighters are looking to get back to winning ways, Stevens last fight was an 8th round TKO to feared middle weight WBA Regular and IBO Champ Gennady ‘GGG’ Golovkin only 11 weeks ago, While Majewski’s last fight was a points loss to Patrick Nielson last September. Bookmakers William Hill have Curtis Stevens a clear favourite at 9/2 while Patrick Majewski is 10/3 against, a draw is 20/1.

Majewski is looking for recognition in the middle weight division and feels beating an established fighter who has challenged for world honours will make fans and middle weight contenders see him as a genuine threat in the division, while Stevens feels the win over Majewski will be the start of the road to redemption and the climb back to elite level and future world title challenges. Both fighters have good power and the skills to utilize it, but Stevens is the favourite and has faced the higher level of opposition.

The Main event is supported by a 10 round bout for the Vacant NABF cruiser weight title, that sees Thabiso Mchunu 14-1, 10ko’s lock horns with Olanrewaju Durodola 17-1, 16ko’s. Mchunu is looking for his 5th straight win since losing to Zack Mwekassa by 6th round TKO, while Durodola is looking for his 9th straight win since losing via 5th round TKO to Akhror Muralimov.
