Myriam Lamare (22-3, 10 KOs) will challenge Cecilia Braekhus (23-0, 7 KOs) for her WBC, WBA & WBO Female Welterweight titles at the Arena Nord in Frederikshavn on February 1st. We caught up with the French boxer as she prepares to take on the pound-for-pound number one.
Q: We are just over a week away from the fight. How has your training been going?
A: Everything is going perfectly. It’s going to be a huge event and I will show up in top shape. Scandinavian fans deserve to see both fighters at their best.
Q: Cecilia has never been beaten. How will you succeed where all others have failed?
A: I have watched all of the available videos of Cecilia’s fights and each time I have noticed some flaws in her style. I plan to take advantage of these flaws, and exploit them in order to win!
Q: This will be your first time fighting in Denmark. Are you looking forward to making the trip?
A: It’s my first time as a pro but I boxed in a tournament in Denmark as an amateur. Guess what? I won!
Q: What can the Scandinavian boxing fans expect from you?
A: A great fight. Nothing more and nothing less.
Q: Do you have a message for Cecilia?
A: No, I will let my fists do the talking!
