‘Enter the Dragon’ Boxing hits Newport on Friday March 14th

Boxing returns to Newport, South Wales on March 14th headlined by the Welsh light-middleweight title fight between Jerome Samuels and Dai Jones. The Newport Centre will once again be the setting for another intriguing evening of boxing. ‘Enter the Dragon’ is the first promotion by former WBO Featherweight Champion Steve Robinson and co-promoter Sharyn Donnachie.

On the 21st September last year, Samuel’s registered a sixth round points win over Jones, in the same venue. This time they will battle over ten rounds and with Welsh honours at stake.

Fan favourite, the hard hitting, Craig Kennedy will be matched in an eight round bout. He was originally scheduled to fight for the Welsh Cruiserweight title but his opponent, Hari Miles, withdrew through injury.

Francis Luke Robinson takes on Tom Price, over six rounds in the welterweight division. Francis has won five of his six professional fights and is trained by his father Steve Robinson.

Talented light heavyweight Lewis Patterson returns against debutant Tom Lloyd of Barry. Patterson was unsuccessful against Tobias Webb for the Welsh title, in his last bout. A damaged left hand thwarting his title challenge that night.

Najah Ali vs Kyle King will see friendship put to one-side, as the super-flyweights look to battle it out over six rounds. Rhondda’s Ali and Cardiff’s King have sparred in the past but will be going at it for real on March 14th.

Two fighters are making their comeback after a lengthy time away from the ring, Jimmy White and Jason Samuels will battle it out in a super middleweight contest over four rounds.

The card will also feature Welsh Prospects  Aled Cook,  Frankie Borg,  Kyle Jones and Tony Dixon.
