Ringnews24.com: You have a fight coming up against Gary Reeve. How did that fight come about and which other boxers were you looking at?
I was supposed to be boxing a lad from Bulgaria, he pulled out not long ago, so my manager Carl Greaves got me matched up with Reeve’s. As for looking at other boxers, I wasn’t, I just focus on the boxer that Carl tells me I’m fighting.
Ringnews24.com: Who is your current trainer, and where do you train?
My trainer is Carl Greaves who is also my manager, he’s a great bloke who knows the sport inside out. Not only that, I’ve known him since I was a little kid as him and my dad were stable mates as pro’s. I trust him 100% and have a lot of respect for him, it makes me train harder as I always want to impress him.
Ringnews24.com: You are currently in the middle of a training camp to prepare for Reeve, could you tell us a little about your camp?
Not long left of my training camp now so I’m sharpening up. I wont tell you too much but I’ve trained hard.. very hard.
Ringnews24.com: How is your training going and how would you compare it to other training camps that you have done?
My training has going really well, just like my last training camp did.
Ringnews24.com: Who have you been sparring in preparation for Reeve?
I have been sparring some local lads at the gym that are a bit heavier than me. It’s a great feeling holding your own with lads that are a few weights above me.
Ringnews24.com: Have you done anything differently in this camp compared to other training camps?
Not really, no, a few more 5.30am runs but training wise I leave it all in the hands of Carl.
Ringnews24.com: Have you seen much footage of Reeve and what do you think of him as a fighter?
I haven’t seen much really, It doesn’t bother me I like to figure them out on the night. I don’t know much about him but I’m sure he’ll come to fight.
Ringnews24.com: Do you have a prediction of how the fight will end?
Yes, I do, with my arm raised as the winner.
Ringnews24.com : You are fighting on March 1st , at the North Kesteven Centre, have you visited the venue before?
I have never visited the venue before but I’ve heard its a great venue I’m looking forward to seeing it.
Ringnews24.com Who is going to be in your corner on the night? And what do they bring to Team Williams?
In my corner will be Carl Greaves and Andrew Lowe both of them train me so they know what I’m good at and how to communicate with me. They are also both former pro’s and I look up to them both so I’ll be all ears with their instructions.
Ringnews24.com: How can fans watch the fight? Is the fight on TV and what channel?
It’s not on TV but fans can watch the fight by getting tickets from me and being there in person.
Ringnews24.com: After your victory are there any fighters that you would like to call out?
There’s boxers that I have my eye on that I would love to box in the future. As for calling people out, I will not be playing those games, I’ll just keep winning and let the fights make themselves.
