Gary Reeve is looking for his first win at the North Kesteven Centre

Ringnews24.com: You have a fight coming up against Jamie Williams. How did that fight come about and which other boxers were you looking at?

I leave all my fight arrangements to my manager Tommy Conroy, he’s been in the game as long as anyone. I don’t tend to look at anyone else, they can look at me and if they fancy it then they should contact Tommy and get it sorted.

Ringnews24.com: Who is your current trainer and where do you train?

I train at High Fell ABC in Gateshead and have three coaches Danny Moir, Micky Fitzpatrick and Rob Wileman.

Ringnews24.com: You are currently in the middle of a training camp to prepare for Williams, could you tell us a little about your camp?

I train six days a week, sessions vary from day to day depending on what my coaches think we need to work on.

Ringnews24.com: How is your training going and how would you compare it to other training camps that you have done?

My training is going very well, my style has always been more suited to the pros. I’ve never really liked the tap and run style in the ams. My training is a lot more intense now, much more one on one pad work – it’s going very well can’t wait for the 1st March.

Ringnews24.com: Who have you been sparring in preparation for Williams?

I have done lots of sparring with my gym mates and with fighters from other gyms both the same weight and heavier than me.

Ringnews24.com: Have you done anything differently in this camp compared to other training camps?

Since turning professional I have been working a lot on moving my head and setting my feet, throwing fewer but harder punches. The training has been more intense longer rounds with less time to rest in between rounds.

Ringnews24.com: Have you seen much footage of Williams and what do you think of him as a fighter?

I haven’t seen any footage of him I just bring what I’m bringing and don’t worry about my opponents. I know he has done quite a bit in the amateurs and I expect him to be a good tidy boxer.

Ringnews24.com: Do you have a prediction of how the fight will end?

Yeah, with my arm being raised as the winner.

Ringnews24.com: You are fighting on March 1st, at the North Kesteven Centre, have you visited the venue before?

No, I haven’t and I’m looking forward to it. That’s the thing about boxing I am going places and meeting people id never of got the chance to otherwise.

Ringnews24.com Who is going to be in your corner on the night? And what do they bring to Team Reeve?

My coach Danny Moir will be in my corner on the night he was a champion pro and we work well together. All of my coaches bring something different to my game they are like my second family I owe them all a lot.

Ringnews24.com: How can fans watch the fight? Is the fight on TV and what channel?

I am not sure if the fight is being televised, you would have to contact the shows promoter Carl Greaves. If anyone wants to come along to the fight they can contact me on Facebook/Twitter (@garyreeve11) and I can arrange tickets.

Ringnews24.com: After your victory, are there any fighters that you would like to call out?

I will fight anyone in and around my weight I don’t call anyone out and get involved in that carry on, actions speak louder than words – I am happy to fight ANYONE out there – if you fancy a fight contact my manager Tommy Conroy and let’s get it on.

Ringnews24.com: Do you have a message for the fans?

Yeah, THANK YOU your support it means the world to me, just keep coming along to watch me fight it’s always a good night out, hopefully get a fight in Gateshead at some point. It’s always a brilliant atmosphere up here.

Ringnews24.com: Thanks for doing an interview with Ringnews24, we wish you all the best on the night.

Thanks for having me, any time.
