Ringnews24.com: You have a fight coming up against Lee Glover. How did that fight come about and which other boxers were you looking at?
My manager put the fight towards me, I think they asked for the fight. I accepted the fight in a heart beat.
Ringnews24.com: Who is your current trainer and where do you train?
My trainer is Darren McCarrick a former top amateur and was 3-0 as a pro in the States. We train at the Boarshaw Gym in Middleton, Manchester and also do strength work at the Fight-Factory in Heywood.
Ringnews24.com: You are currently in the middle of a training camp to prepare for Glover, could you tell us a little about your camp?
Yeah, the camp has been great, getting lots of fitness work, boxing tech drills and I am working on my strength.
Ringnews24.com: How is your training going, and how would you compare it to other training camps that you have done?
Yeah, training’s going great, better than the Hooper camp as I couldn’t run due to some ligament damage in my foot that’s repaired now and I’m able to put everything into training.
Ringnews24.com: Who have you been sparring in preparation for Glover?
I have been sparring some top amateurs from the Manchester scene and a few local pros. I am getting some really good work in and a good kid from Hull who’s just turned over.
Ringnews24.com: Have you done anything differently in this camp compared to other training camps?
We’re always trying new stuff. I’ve been able to do my roadwork that I haven’t been able to do for the last 8 months.
Ringnews24.com: Have you seen much footage of Glover and what do you think of him as a fighter?
Yes I have seen bits, my trainer Darren will watch have watched him and he puts the game plan together – I just follow his instructions.

Ringnews24.com: You are fighting on March 8th, at the Sports Centre in Oldham have you visited the venue before?
Yes, I boxed there against Hooper. It’s five minutes from where I live in the gym it’s quite local for me.

My trainer Darren McCarrick, Pat Ward and cut man Frank Hopkins. We have good teamwork and that’s what makes the dream work.
