Ryan Farrag looking for title fights at the end of 2014

Ringnews24.com: You have a fight coming up against Jason Booth. How did that fight come about and which other boxers were you looking at?

Yes, I’ll be fighting Jason Booth on the 8th of March. I was always going to fight on that bill, about 6 weeks before the date my manager Neil Marsh called me and told me about the Booth fight. It’s a really good step up fight for me, Booth fought Haskins last time out for the British title, so a win will definitely put me in a position to fight for titles at some point this year.

Ringnews24.com: Who is your current trainer and where do you train?

Paul Stevenson and Michael Stevenson are my trainers at the Everton Red Triangle and have been there since I was amateur .

Ringnews24.com: You are currently in the middle of a training camp to prepare for Booth, could you tell us a little about your camp?

My training camp for this fight has gone really well at the start of our camp we visited MGM Marbella while we were there we done strength and conditioning, mountain running along with sparring and the usual day to day training.

Ringnews24.com: How is your training going and how would you compare it to other training camps that you have done?

This will be my first 8 round fight, so I’ve been sparring over ten rounds compared to 6 or 8 round sparring sessions that I’ve done in previous camps. I’ve been doing the rounds comfortably and I’m looking forward to putting all the hard work into good use on the night.

Ringnews24.com: Who have you been sparring in preparation for Booth?

I’ve been doing quite a bit of sparring with Kal Yafai – I’d say he has a similar but has a better style compared to Booth.

Ringnews24.com: Have you seen much footage of Booth, and what do you think of him as a fighter?

I tend not over analyse my opponents and I leave that to my coaches who come back with tactics. I’ve seen a little bit of Booth and I know it’s not going to be an easy fight, the man is very experienced and has fought many times at title level.

Ringnews24.com: You are fighting on March 8th at the Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool,  have you visited the venue before?

I was supposed to fight at the venue last year only for the fight to fall through last minute, it was the bill when Kevin Satchell beat Paul Edwards for the Commonwealth title, so I’m looking forward to going back and getting another chance to fight there.

Ringnews24.com Who is going to be in your corner on the night? And what do they bring to Team Farrag?

Paul and Michael Stevenson will be in my corner on the night and they will bring calmness, great tactics and years of experience to the corner – I wouldn’t want anybody else there with me.

Ringnews24.com: How can fans watch the fight? Is the fight on TV and what channel?

Fans can contact me on Facebook or Twitter @ryanfarrag88 for those who can’t make it they can watch the fight live on Boxnation.

Ringnews24.com: After your victory, are there any fighters that you would like to call out?

I’m not really the type of fighter to start calling anybody out but I’ll fight anyone in order to get where I’m going. I want titles by the end of the year a British title fight would be a dream come true for me.

Ringnews24.com: Do you have a message for the fans?

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who comes to support me on fight night. It is nothing without fans and I appreciate the support they have given me over the years.

Ringnews24.com: Thanks for doing an interview with Ringnews24, we wish you all the best on the night.
