Bill-toppers Jason Welborn and Luke Paddock both face Bulgarian opposition in Stanislav Nenkov and Kristian Dochev respectively.
19 year-old Nenkov has fought three times already this year. Sandwiched in between two wins in his homeland, the Razgrad resident lost an International Masters Light Middleweight contest against Brentwood’s Kris Agyei-Dua.
Dochev has 25 professional fights to his name and goes into his contest with Paddock on the back of a points victory over fellow Bulgarian, Erhan Sali, in Sofia earlier this month.
Wolverhampton super featherweight, Des Bowater, will be looking to make it 5-0 as he faces the evergreen Kristian Laight. Des’ brother, Sid, makes his professional debut at welterweight against experienced Tamworth campaigner, Matt Seawright.
Stoke’s Rob Hunt is back in action for the first time since his International Masters Welterweight Title defeat at the fists of Stephen Pearce when he takes on veteran, Kevin McCauley, in a ding dong Stoke derby. McCauley is coming to win and Hunt, who lost to Pearce at the Town Hall back in November, will be eager to make
a return to winning ways too.
Fellow Stoke fighter, Josh McLaren, puts his undefeated 4-0 record to the test when he steps in with Gloucester’s Louis Van Poetch. The Frank Warren-signed welterweight defeated Matt Seawright at the Town Hall earlier this year and will be looking for a similar result against serving soldier, Van Poetch. ‘Poochi’ has taken current British Champion, Curtis Wwodhouse, and highly rated prospect, Nathan Dale, the distance so it’s a step up in class for the talented McLaren.
Birmingham cruiserweight, Olly Lambert, faces an unnamed opponent and Ryan Nandha, the Leicester welterweight, will be looking to bounce back from a debut defeat when he returns to the a Town Hall.
Kyle Spencer, Chris Male, Lee Glover and Lennox Clarke no longer feature.
Tickets, priced at £30 and £60 Ringside, are available from Walsall Town Hall Box Office on 0845 111 2900. The aftershow party takes place at the Pitch Sports Bar and Grill on Bridge Street, Walsall.
