Don Charles: There’s no way we’ll lose to Fury twice

Dereck Chisora’s trainer Don Charles says that there is no way his man will lose a second time to Tyson Fury on Saturday 26th July at the Phones 4 U Arena in Manchester.

Charles is preparing Chisora for the most crucial fight of his career with the European and British Heavyweight titles on the line plus the winner getting the number one spot to challenge reigning WBO king Wladimir Klitschko.

Although Fury already holds a win over Chisora in July 2011 – when he took the Londoner’s British and Commonwealth belts and unbeaten record – Charles says that Chisora will be in the best shape of his life for the rematch.

“This is must win fight for Dereck, no two ways about it, he knows it and I know it, we can’t come off second best,” Said Charles.

“We can’t afford to lose to Fury twice, I cannot and will not let that happen.  Dereck knows what is at stake and he is completely and totally focussed on this fight, I can’t fault his dedication in training and I firmly believe that he will come away the victor,”

“Dereck’s mind set is completely different for this fight, he’s more determined than I’ve ever seen him before.  This fight is his life and he is training the hardest I’ve ever seen him train.  He’ll be in the best shape ever and Tyson had better not be preparing for the Dereck he beat,”

“Personally, I believe that Dereck can go all the way to winning to the world heavyweight title, we’ve been close to scaling the mountain before, but right now we’re totally fixed on beating Fury,”

There is also some personal pride at stake with Charles not wanting to be outfoxed by Fury’s trainer and uncle Peter a second time.

He added, “I’m sure Tyson and Peter will be very confident going in against Dereck again,”

“Peter is a good trainer and I highly rate him so it’s a personal ambition of mine to get one back on him,”

“I take great pride in my work and if I am as good a trainer as I believe I am and what I can go on to achieve with Dereck, then we cannot lose to Fury again.”
