Anthony Ferrante, who is coming off of brutal back-to-back loses in the ring, will have to wait to lace them up after it was announced his UBF World Cruiserweight Title clash against Rico Hoye on June 27th, has been postponed.
The bout was originally scheduled to take place at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
However, according to Ferrante there were some issues with AG promotions, who co-promoted the card.
“I really do not know what happened to be honest, I was told there was an issue with the two promoters and the whole card is scratched,” Ferrante told On “Q” Sports exclusively Wednesday.
“It really sucks, I have trained so hard, and to be honest, this is the best I have ever felt mentally and physically and I do not know why I got picked for this fight, but I was ready man.”
Ferrante is coming off two grueling loses, his last one was against Pedro Martinez back in March, when Martinez pulled off the six-round upset by simply being more active then Ferrante.
The bout was ugly to watch and afterwards people wandered if something was physically wrong with Ferrante.
“Rich, to be honest, I should have not taken that fight, we spoke about this afterwards, I was very sick. It really started with the Caputo-Smith fight and it just lingered. I was in the hospital leading up to the fight and I had a bad fever, and it was very irresponsible of me to be out there.”
The loss dropped him to 12-6 in his career.
Ferrante is hoping he can find a way onto the Chazz Witherspoon card which is slated to take place July 12th, in West Deptford, NJ.
Witherspoon will be the main event as he takes on Tyyab Beale.
“If I can get on the card great, I have had some great sparring with Chazz, who is really impressed with my hand speed and just how hard I am working.”
