Gale Sayers Foundation Honors Al Bernstein

Hall of Fame boxing announcer Al Bernstein will be honored by the Gale Sayers Foundation at its 7th annual”An Evening with the Stars” event on October 9th in Chicago. Al will join former Chicago Bears star Ronnie Bull and former Chicago Bulls standout Charles Oakley as honorees.

Bernstein, a Chicago native, said of this honor, “This is special for several reasons.¬† First because it comes in my home town where I spent the first 35 years of my life. Chicago is a great city that I will always call home. Then, to receive an award associated with the great Gale Sayers adds so much to this. Gale is one of the most electrifying athletes in history and I rooted for him as a Bear during his great career. The Gale Sayers Foundation does great work for underserved Chicago schools to help better prepare these students for college or careers. That is a great mission and one I am happy to support. October 9th will be a special night for me and the other honorees as well.”
