Best of Devon 2 Moved To Plymouth

Plymouth Cruiserweight, Courtney Richards, will be flying the Argyle flag when tops the boxing bill at the Guildhall on Sunday, 26th October.

Local lad Courtney, who is the British Bronze Masters Cruiserweight Champion, takes on Bristol’s Henry Smith hoping to add the International Masters Cruiserweight Title to his collection.

The 21 year-old is a guest of Argyle today and will be welcomed on to the pitch at half time to show off his belt. Courtney trains at Carl Robson’s Boxing Stable in Plympton alongside fellow local boxers, Chris Adaway and Angelo Crowe, who are also in action next Sunday.

“I’m buzzing to be fighting in Plymouth,” said Courtney. “It’s a massive thing for me. There’s a great feeling about boxing on the South Coast at the minute so to have a show on home soil is going to be something special.

“It’s great to have the support of Argyle and hopefully a few fans will pop along and see me in action.”

Exeter’s Lewis Browning is chief support as he takes on Swindon’s Joe Beeden for a British Bronze Masters Featherweight Title. The talented pugilist made a welcome return to the ring in June and has his eyes firmly set on Jamie Speight’s Southern Area Super Featherweight Title.

Fellow Exeter fighter, Freddy ‘Pretty Boy’ Kiwitt, is also in action as he takes on Plymouth debutant Jamie Ingleby at welterweight.

Plymouth duo – light heavyweight, Angelo Crowe, and super featherweight debutant, Chris Adaway, – complete the card.
