It was announced that star-crossed Tyson Fury’s uncle, Hughie Fury, passed away over the weekend due to complications of a blood clot.
According to the Fury family, Hughie had spent eleven weeks in intensive care in an effort to repair a damaged knee with a pin. It resulted in a blood clot that left Fury fighting for his life.
Hughie’s turn for the worse forced nephew Tyson to withdraw from his scheduled July bout with Alexander Ustinov.
Following the announcement, Tyson Fury issued the following statement via his official Twitter account: “Tragic loss for the Fury family. Uncle Hughie Fury. Forever in my heart & life. RIP. Gone to see Jesus.”
