Wembley-bound Walsall FC star, Richard O’Donnell, has backed fellow Black Country sports stars, Lennox Clarke and Des Bowater, to create their own slice of history on Saturday.
The goalkeeper is busy preparing for his club’s first-ever trip to Wembley in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy but took time out of his busy schedule to back the boxing duo, who go in search of their first boxing titles at the home of The Saddlers – Banks’s Stadium – this weekend.
“It‘s great to see Lennox and Des doing well,” O’Donnell told www.uko-boxing.com. “Walsall is buzzing at the moment what with the Wembley trip on the horizon and hopefully some of our good luck will rub off on the lads this weekend.
“They’re both young and hungry for success, which I can relate to. Hopefully, they will both get the win on Saturday.”
The boxing pair are in action this coming Saturday, 21st February with Halesowen Super Middleweight, Clarke, taking on Trowbridge’s Dan Blackwell and Wolverhampton super featherweight, Bowater, stepping in with Leicester’s Lewis ‘2 Slick’ Jones.
Completing Black Country Boxing’s ‘Triple Threat’ show is Stoke light welterweight, Kieron McLaren. The 21 year-old takes on Tamworth’s Matt Seawright.
