Mayweather-Pacquiao officially set for May 2nd superfight in Las Vegas

The biggest and most financially lucrative fight in boxing history is finally a go.

Floyd Mayweather announced Saturday evening that negotiations have, indeed, culminated in a May 2nd superfight with Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. He announced the fight on Twitter and via press release.

This massive prizefight, which will see each fighter receive unearthly nine-figure wages, is official, and it’s a sigh of relief for those anxiously anticipating the day it would be. Further details, however, remain scarce, besides the fact that it will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and be distributed by Showtime and HBO Pay-Per-View in a duel television showcase. The retail price per Pay-Per-View order will reportedly be $99.99/$89.99 for HD/SD. International broadcasting rights remain unannounced for the time being.
